Frequently Asked Questions

Billing, Service and Account

How will I be billed?
You will be billed exactly as you always have been by your local utility company. The only difference you’ll see on your electric bill is that Verde Energy USA will be listed on your bill as your electricity supplier and our lower cost electrical rates will be used in your billing.

Will my electrical service be interrupted during the transition to Verde Energy USA?
No. You will experience no change in service whatsoever. The only difference you’ll see is in your electric bill is that Verde Energy USA will be listed on your bill as your electricity supplier and our lower cost electrical rates will be used in your billing.

Will my local utility company continue to service my account?
Yes, nothing will change in terms of receiving your electricity or any customer service.  You will continue to receive one bill for electricity each month from your local utility company and only have to write one check (which will continue to be made out to your utility company).  You will see Verde Energy USA listed on your bill as your electricity supplier and our lower cost electrical rates will be used in your billing.  Your local utility will continue to read your meter and make any necessary repairs.

Who do I call if my power goes out?
You should call your local utility company if your power goes out or you have any other service issues.  For your reference the toll free number for Connecticut utilities are: CL&P 800-286-2000 and UI 800-676-7052; in Illinois Com Ed 800-334-7661; in New Jersey: ACE 800-833-7476, JCP&L 800-662-3115 and PSE&G 800-436-7734; and in Pennsylvania: Met Ed 888-544-4877; PECO 800-441-4141; Penelec 888-544-4877; and PPL 800-342-5775.

Does Verde Energy USA support budget billing?
Yes, if you are a customer in Connecticut or Pennsylvania and are on a budget billing plan your plan will stay in place and you do not need to take any action.  If you are a Com Ed customer in Illinois you can be on a budget for the distribution portion of your bill but not for the supply portion.  If you are a customer in New Jersey on a budget billing plan you are still eligible for budget billing but need to call Verde at 800-388-3862 so we can set up our portion of your budget plan.

What happens if I move my home or business?
If you plan to move your home or business within the state Verde Energy USA can continue to provide your electricity at our low rate.  Please contact us at service@lowcostpower.com and we will help you manage your account during the move.
